Update from Uganda School Projects

As we come into September, just as here in UK, the school system in Uganda comes into its new autumn semester towards the second half of September! I’ve heard from Geofrey Okot, who heads up our schools, sport academy and food programmes in Kampala that there’s a real excitement and expectation for the coming season! The last term ended with celebration sports events, which included a brass band playing as a parade through the streets in the slum areas and food and drinks supplied for all the children and their families that attended the end of term gala! This has led to a greater interest in the activities of our charity in and around the slum districts of Kampala, which as I have said already, is very exciting for us here in UK!

So as you know, the new term means we have to provide all our children and young people with scholastic materials and the minimum tutoring fees for 50+ children who receive part bursaries in the local state schools! They receive bursaries because of the sport and athletic skills which they have built up from being part of our sport academies, both girls and boys! Once again I want to thank you for your generous financial support and, even more so, your prayers! If the Lord stirs you in your heart to continue to support us financially, the beginning of every new term needs us to raise an extra £600 or so, on top of our normal costs for our team workers, to keep our students in education!

We also see our newest Nursery/Primary school begin its 3rd term and as before every term we have seen an increase in numbers of slum families sending their children to our facility as the reputation of the love and teaching levels that are being achieved at our schools! Parents and adults in the community continue to comment on the improvements in behaviour of their young people since they have been attending our schools and sport academies!

So once again, I want to just thank you for your prayers, your interest and, of course, your financial support to our projects! You are more than just partners in our work, you are also highly esteemed and appreciated by each of us working from UK, with the projects in Uganda! We really couldn’t do it without your great encouragement!

We continue to pray and believe the little we can do gives Godly hope for the future of these young people! I pray the Lord continues to bless you and your families in every area of your lives! Blessings always! Alistair (Num6:24-26,Heb11:6)
