The story so far

So let’s start at the beginning…….

In 1989/90 the Scott family left their home in leafy Surrey, UK, and embarked on a journey to Sweden, for one year, to be spent in a Bible School in Uppsala. This is a story in itself……maybe for another time!
On returning home they were excited and eager for the life of the Kingdom of God and so decided to fast and pray, to ask The Lord for his specific will for their lives. So, a vision for a ministry named “Warriors of Praise” was born. In August 1990, armed with a written vision and the Bible, they started with a few friends, coming together in their home, to worship, pray and share the Word of God. To their surprise, others started to gather with them. People came from other parts of the UK, to spend time in the fellowship. Then others arrived from various nations abroad to help.

Alistair will continue the story……..

“As we grew in number, we realised it was time to meet in a bigger venue. We rented school halls or community halls and even crossed the county border to Kent, to find space to meet together. During this time, we transitioned into a church community and also registered as a UK charity.
As a church, we were involved in all kinds of activities and in 1999, we were offered a building which became our home. We held our services, Sunday School, Bible School and Missions Training Centre in this building. We even ran a Christian School for seven years!
We were very involved with the overseas mission fields and were able to visit many countries where we took our students on Short Term Missions.
We held seminars, training courses and conferences and were blessed to host many speakers from around the world. The place was buzzing with life! We connected with Kingdom Faith Ministries, Horsham, under the leadership of Pastor Colin Urquhart, early on. We were ordained by him and have always appreciated the apostolic help given to us by the teams who were sent to assist us to grow. We were frequent campers at Faith Camp, and also took part in the Leadership Conferences annually.
Our relationship with Kingdom Faith deepened and today we are part of the Kingdom Faith family, believing God together for “the bigger picture”!.
Warriors of Praise Trust still continues as our ministry.

We have helped pioneer work in Uganda and Pakistan. This work is ongoing, and as we are a little older than we used to be, together with our Board of Trustees, we have had to make some significant decisions to make changes to ensure that the work in Uganda and Pakistan can continue in the best way for the future.” One year ago, the building which had served the ministry for 29 years, was sold to the nursery school that had been housed there for ten years. This released the finance needed to further invest in the overseas work. Alistair and Connie moved to become more fully involved in the Kingdom Faith vision and ministry, and
where they continue to be involved in the support of overseas workers.

The last word from Alistair…..

“We plan to build a website shortly, to inform those who are interested, more fully, about our ongoing support of work in Uganda and Lahore, and to enable those who would like to be more connected and involved to have the opportunity to Pray, Give or Go!!!
Watch for updates on our Facebook page, which has been live for 5 years, but hardly used! Now is the time! Facebook-Warriors of Praise.”

Thank you for being part of the story and we hope you have enjoyed celebrating 30 years with us, and this is the promised website!

Alistair and Connie.
