An Update from the Musisi Family and Kabowa Hope Center
We are so grateful for your continued support and prayers. We wanted to share an update on our family and the wonderful things happening at the Kabowa Hope Center.
Family News
- Svante is back in Uganda while he prepares for his next academic step. He has been awarded a tuition scholarship to study Law at the University of Turin in Italy! We are currently exploring options for a full scholarship. He has a visa interview scheduled for September 9th and is working at his old job, SMK Motor Spa, to raise funds for the process. Your prayers for a successful interview would be greatly appreciated.
- Stiner-Connie is diligently preparing for her final A-level exams, which will take place in October of this year. On a sad note, one of her friends at school, lost her dad today from cancer and she has gone to be with her for comfort.
- Stacy, now 17, is in Form 3 and has made fantastic progress in her studies. She will sit for her O-level exams next year. During her current school holiday, she is working at a supermarket as part of a school project and to earn some pocket money.
- Shiloh, our youngest, celebrated her 12th birthday on Monday, August 25th! She is doing very well in Primary 5. A birthday wish from you would make her day.
- Please keep Sarah in your prayers. She has joined a new church community and is now living with other followers. This has led to a lot of control over her life, and she has had to close her business. We are praying for God to release her from this situation.
Outbuilding Project Progress
The building project you have so generously supported is making a real difference!
The first two-bedroom unit is complete and has been rented out, providing a much-needed source of income.
Work on the second, one-bedroom unit is progressing well, albeit slowly. The ceiling, plumbing, electrical wiring, kitchen worktop, doors, and the first coat of paint are all finished. The final items needed for completion are:
- Floor and shower room tiles
- Bathroom fittings (toilet, sink, shower, water heater)
- Two doors
- Kitchen cabinet units
Once finished the additional income realized will make a big difference in our finances, like the first one.
We are so thankful to you and the Warriors of Praise Trust partners for being at the forefront of this project.
Transforming Lives at Kabowa Hope Center
It brings us great joy to see the transformation in the lives of the young people at the Hope Center. Many of the boys who were struggling are now active members of our fellowship, which meets every Friday evening and Sunday morning.
Through the Center, we have been able to:
- Support and encourage some to start small businesses.
- Provide assistance with school tuition.
- Offer counseling and advice to many in the community.
Geoffrey continues his wonderful work training young people in football, though finding affordable space for training is becoming increasingly difficult. We are trusting God for a breakthrough, as more resources would allow us to achieve so much more.
Spotlight on Hannan
We are also supporting a very bright young girl named Hannan with her tuition. Her mother has passed away and her father is a drug addict, so she lives with her grandmother. Her grandmother works hard babysitting and running a small kiosk. We were able to provide a small amount of capital to help her expand the kiosk to increase her income. Both Hannan and her grandmother are now regulars at our Friday and Sunday meetings.
Thank you again for your partnership. We continue to pray that God will keep you in good health.
Blessings,
Stephen Musisi.
